Service to Stewardship
At Bishop Carroll Catholic High School, service is about more than completing a required number of hours. Our Service to Stewardship program seeks to form servant hearts and encourage students to recognize the gifts God has given them and use those gifts to better the world around them.
Through service, students have the opportunity to put their faith into action, develop a lifelong commitment to helping others, and discover the impact they can make in their school, parish, and greater community.
Service Hour Requirements
Students are required to complete the following number of service hours each school year:
-
Freshmen: 10 hours
-
Sophomores: 15 hours
-
Juniors: 20 hours
-
Seniors: 25 hours
Students may complete their service with any nonprofit organization, their parish, or Bishop Carroll. School-based opportunities may include working a concession stand, volunteering at an athletic event, assisting with school events, and other approved service opportunities.
Important Deadlines
November 13 – Half of Required Hours Due
By November 13, students must have completed at least half of their required annual service hours. These hours must be entered, verified, and confirmed in x2VOL by the deadline.
March 31 – All Hours Due
All required service hours must be completed and recorded in x2VOL by March 31.
Students are encouraged to complete and enter their hours throughout the year rather than waiting until a deadline approaches.
Logging Service Hours
Bishop Carroll uses x2VOL to track student service hours. Students should log their service promptly after completing it and make sure the hours have been verified and confirmed.
